RPE is looking forward to an exciting 2016-17 Season! This year has seen increased attendance, more subscribers and donors, and continued support from experienced and professional volunteers.
The Town of Danville continues to be a significant partner and the expertise it brings to us is important to our success. The Danville Library and the Eugene O’Neill Foundation, Tao House are also supportive partners in helping us continue to bring “bright lights, big city” theatre to Danville and surrounding areas.
Our theme for 2016-17 is “Theatre for Grown Ups!” We know that we have many patrons who choose to live in the Tri-Valley because they enjoy the quality of life. We “grown ups” have tremendous life experience and as we’ve lived we’ve gained an understanding about the nuances, ambiguities, and complications that come with living a well-rounded life; these themes are often explored in the theatre, whether through dramatic productions such as last season’s “A Streetcar Named Desire” and through upcoming comedies “Don’t Drink the Water“ and “Laughing Stock.”
An exciting new benefit for early subscribers and all donors is the opportunity to attend four “master classes” at no additional cost on the art of acting to be held in the Village Theatre. We’re also excited to announce two Script-in hand performances for our patrons in addition to our productions on the main stage of the VT.
Please join us as we continue our journey to provide our patrons and community with high quality live theatre.
